"Turning Pink" *SOLD*

Days at Florida's panhandle make up so many memories of my life...the most beautiful beaches in the world are at my back door and I have always known how blessed I am to be so close. Words can't express the feelings I have when I think this could all be different for a very long time. This painting reminds me of the way my grandfather and father played with us endlessly in the water...the things so many families have shared on these white sands.

"Hanging Out" *SOLD*

This one's being delivered to Gallery East in Eastchase today along with a few others. They're having an Open House tomorrow, Saturday, May 8, from 2-4. I love painting the cows of Pike Road, Alabama! The rusty colored ones are my favorites - the tones are so beautiful when the afternoon light hits them ranging from deep orange to purples and pinks.

Silver Lining *SOLD*

This is one of a few tiny paintings I've done of skyscapes. I just delivered a few to the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts Gift Shop. They are a lot of fun to do...just 4" x 4" on a wood panel. With this one, I was trying to capture that glow of the sun through a dark cloud on a late afternoon.

Perry Street *SOLD*

Here's a cityscape done for the Montgomery County Commission. One of Montgomery's historic trolley cars traveling down Perry Street - passing First Baptist Church on the right and heading toward St. John's at the end of the street.

January's Best *SOLD*

A few weeks ago, a new friend shared some camellias with me from his beautiful garden. I just love them - they're my favorite flower. Little valentines - pinks & reds - right in the middle of winter. There's something old fashioned about them that I just love - I guess they remind me of the gardens of so many grandmothers. I hope this one brightens a chilly day for you!

More Cowbell... *SOLD*

After many requests for paintings of cows lately, I decided to post my most recent which is now for sale at the Montgomery Museum Gift Shop.
Every time someone asks me about cow paintings, my husband and I laugh about the Will Ferrell skit on Saturday Night Live..."More cowbell!"....for those of you who have seen it! You can find it on YouTube if you want to take a look!
This one is titled "Oreo" and lives on Wallahatchee Road in Pike Road, Alabama.

Iron Bowl Day!! *SOLD*

This is a great big day around here!! My family is all about Bama - but I have to pull for my alma mater - Auburn! It makes it more fun to have a little football tension in the air, anyway!! This painting was done a few years ago - obviously after a victory on the Plains and Toomer's Corner was appropriately embellished!

Counting My Blessings *SOLD*

A summertime painting entitled "Curb Market Color", but I wanted to post it now because it embodies so much of what I'm thankful for! The beauty and bounty of the earth, food on our table, jobs, our country, the seasons. Our curb market is so full of memories for me, too - trips with my grandparents, my mother, my sisters - such happy times!

"Warm Glow" Takes a Trip! *SOLD*

Should've mentioned this on the blog earlier in the month, but I was excited that this painting ended up in Coastal Living magazine's Idea House in Sunset Harbor, NC! You can see it (with the aid of a magnifying glass!) on page 8 of the November issue! It's on the end table, behind a plant...even so, I'm happy about it!! The title is "Warm Glow". The house was decorated by Montgomerys' Phillip Sides. Check it out on line - it's beautiful!

Golden Time

At last - cool weather & sunshine! This backlit tree was painted last fall at Tannehill in North Alabama. I can't wait until we get some fall color in the trees....what a wonderful time of year!
While I love the bright yellows & oranges of the leaves, I equally love the purple shadows against those beautiful brights!
I have my cadmiums ready...come on, leaves - I'm ready for the show!
